Rickey Stokes news has the same appeal as a car wreck. You almost can’t help but look at it and wonder what happened. Even the fender-benders show up there. They obviously listen intently to the local police scanner and post what is happening. Interesting… right? Yep, that small time little guy that is hustling out there to find the interesting stuff sure is appealing. But, that is not what it is anymore. I checked out his site this morning for the first time in a long and this is what I found:

DOTHAN: On Friday Night Amie Pollard and I will be in the dunkin booth at the National Peanut Festival.
Our willingness to get wet is to help Alabama Special Olympics raise money. The team members are form the wiregrass and working to raise Athens Greece in the Olympics. They have to raise $ 105,000 between now and March.
Come out and dunk Aimee…also Freddie Len White – John Tyson and Bob Riley, here is your chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This post does not even communicate a clear message! What exactly are they raising money for?!? I understand that they are raising money for Alabama Special Olympics, but are they sending the money to Greece? Are they sending the Alabama Special Olympians to Greece? …If so, WHY? Are they raising money for Olympians in Athens Greece?
Most all of his posts do not have the grammatical correctness or spelling at a 5th grade level. Not only is it unprofessional, but it is painful and irritating to read. If you send them a message making a suggestion that maybe they use a spell checker program or try to help edit each other, Mr. Keppy will let you know that they do not care about such, don’t want to hear such a complaint, and point out the fact that Rickey owns the site and can post whatever he wants. Yep, that’s right. OK, I can put up with the goofy inability to communicate, but here is what really makes it so I cannot regularly view this site. Mr. Stokes has gotten so political that it makes me sick on my stomach! For example, the above copied post is seemingly intended to promote a worthy charitable cause, but Rickey can’t even post such a thing without trying to make his personal political point of view. Come on! Enough already! Personally, I find much of what this guy posts to be very one-sided, narrow-minded, and sometimes ignorant of fact. But hey, it’s his site and he can post what he wants. If I have a problem with it… go make my own site and post what I want, right? Yeah, maybe I am just barking in the wind. But, personally I can’t stomach going on his site anymore, because Rickey is always narrowly pushing his political view or attacking someone he has a personal problem with. Am I being too sensitive to this or do others feel the same way?
