This is about schools security and the expenses involved: http://www.dothaneagle.com/news/edu...d3239.html

I'm in complete agreement - there is much that needs to be improved (nationwide) - such as physical barriers and armed people within the school.

I believe there are already numerous (capable/ mentally stable) people working within many of these schools that with minimal training would be able/ willing to voluntarily carry concealed weapons - at basically no cost to the school system. We already entrust these same people (daily) to work side by side watching over their students; with additional vetting I say it's time to consider alternatives.

There are many teachers, janitors, bus-drivers, cafe workers, etc. that can/would meet the additional standards to provide a layer of much needed security. And let us not overlook parents/ grandparents (with proper vetting) who could voluntarily watch over the entrances.

Do Something, think outside of the box.
