The rants/raves on this subject are getting heated, it reminds me of the past abortion fight (which I also supported/ womens pro choice).

My opinion is the bad guys are gonna do what they do with no regards to the law. Why should the good guys be hampered by a requirement to take time off work, travel to the sheriffs place and pay a fee? The odd part of it is these same good guys can legally carry openly.

Well carrying openly, to me, makes very little sense. Why? It takes away the element of surprise to the thug (likely armed) looking to do mischief. Give the good guys an EQUAL opportunity to defend themselves.

YES TO ALLOWING COST-FREE CONCEALED CARRY - WITHOUT PERMIT - FOR THE PUBLIC.

Good New! From an online news source:

The Alabama Senate has passed a bill eliminating the requirement for a permit from a county sheriff to carry a concealed handgun.
The Senate passed the bill by Sen. Gerald Allen, R-Tuscaloosa, after voting to cut off debate.
Some Democrats in the Senate opposed the bill and sought to amend it.

The bill passed by a vote of 25-8 and moves to the House of Representatives.

Please join me in supporting this bill.
